MONROE - Two second-half goals by sophomore forward Maddie Kallgren propelled the Monroe girls soccer team to a 3-1 win over Wisconsin Heights Monday.

The Cheesemaker's victory on Senior Night marked the final regular season game for Monroe (9-7) before the team takes on Whitewater in the playoffs Thursday.

Senior Gabby Ludwig put Monroe on the board first at five minutes, 30 seconds with an assist from Hannah Callaway. Wisconsin Heights answered quickly, tying the game at 1-1 at 10:33.

Kalldren broke the tie at 54:40 with an assist from junior Emily Frankowski.

"We felt more relaxed once we got the second goal under our belts, and it was a nice, comfortable win for us," Monroe coach Miriam O'Neill said.

Monroe goalkeepers Shyanna Kelley and Gwen Ambrose tallied nine and three saves, respectively.

O'Neill said the Cheesemakers dedicated the game to former teammate Kylie Kundert, who passed away last season.
