Monroe Pee-Wee's drop game to Verona

MONROE - The Monroe Youth Hockey Pee-Wees (11 and 12 year-olds) suffered a 7-2 defeat on Saturday at the hands of a strong-skating Southwest Eagles team from Verona.

Monroe's two goals came from Kayla Einbeck and Tyler Johnson with an assist from Molly Gross. Kobe Manor turned back 14 shots in goal.

The Avalanche rebounded on Sunday with a 6-2 road victory over the Dubuque Stars. Scoring goals for Monroe were Jacob Ritschard, who recorded a three-goal hat-trick, Tyler Johnson with two goals and one from Trenten Ryan, who was also credited with an assist. Molly Gross played in goal and recorded 20 saves.
