MONROE - The Monroe Brewers improved to 3-4 overall in the Western Division of the Home Talent baseball's Sunday League with an 11-1 win over Argyle in eight innings.
Cody Boals pitched Monroe to the win, tossing seven innings, allowing just one run, two walks and five hits while striking out four. Ben Korth pitched the top of the eighth in relief.
At the plate, the Brewers got a big game from Jake Teasdale, who went 3 for 5 with five RBIs and the game-ending bases-loaded triple.
Monroe scored five runs in the first, one in each of the fifth and sixth, and then added four more in the eighth.
Boals also tripled at the plate, Adam Scherer doubled, and Shawn Dascher launched a solo home run off the scoreboard in right field to lead off the eighth inning.
Jarrett Bauman took the loss on the hill for Argyle.
Monroe will play Thursday in Wiota for a Night League game, and will travel to Argyle again Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. for a rain makeup.
