Monroe goes 1-1 over the weekend

MONROE - The Monroe Brewers finished 1-1 over the weekend in Home Talent Sunday League play.

Monroe lost to Hollandale 2-1 in 10 innings on Saturday and defeated Ridgeway 7-3 on Sunday.

Ben Korth took the loss in Saturday's game, striking out 10 and allowing just five hits. Cody Boals had 11 strikeouts and allowed seven hits and two walks in nine innings of Sunday's win.

Rooney Janecke and Jake Teasdale each had 2-hit games for the Brewers over the weekend.

Monroe (2-4) hosts Platteville for a Night League game on Thursday and then welcomes Argyle on Sunday.

Wiota also split a pair of weekend games, losing to Argyle on Saturday, 6-1, before beating Dodgeville on Sunday 9-1.

Kory Tuescher had two hits in both games and Brock Bidlingmaier had two hits and the win on the mound on Sunday.
