Monroe girls sweep Badger rivals

MONROE - The Monroe girls track team swept a double dual against Stoughton and Fort Atkinson on Tuesday.

The Cheesemakers racked up 78 points which was well ahead of Stoughton (59) and Fort Atkinson (45).

Monroe sophomore Cammi Ganshert won the 100-meter dash (12.56 seconds) and the 200 (26.36). Ganshert teamed with junior Sydney Mathiason and seniors Josie Eberle and Jordan Hirsbrunner to win the 400 relay (51.5). Eberle won the pole vault (10 feet, 3 inches).

Hirsbrunner won the 800-meter run with a time of 2 minutes, 26.90 seconds.

Senior Casey Rielly took first in the 100 hurdles (16.13) and freshman Cassi Gersbach won the 300 hurdles (50.56).

The Cheesemakers' 3,200 relay team of Allyce Fahrney, Elise Smith, Clare Hughes and Rachel Meier finished first with a time of 11:19.3.

The Monroe boys track team lost a double dual to Stoughton and Fort Atkinson. Fort Atkinson (76) won the meet over the Vikings (70). The Cheesemakers scored just 37 points.

Monroe senior Trevor Aebly won the 110 high hurdles (15.38). Sophomore Jordan Montgomery finished first in the 100 (11.19). Montgomery teamed with Brayden Zettle, Kendall Paulson and Jason Koller to win the 800 relay (1:36.80). Zettle also won the triple jump (42-11⁄4).
