WHITEWATER - Kent Miehe, a native of Darlington and senior member of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater cross country program, garnered All-Academic individual accolades from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Associa-tion.
The 2015 Warhawks men's and women's track and field teams were named All-Academic Teams for the fourth and 11th consecutive seasons, respectively. The Warhawks men tallied a team cumulative grade point average of 3.214 on a 4.0 scale and were one of 151 men's teams to earn All-Academic distinction.
To be recognized with the award, teams must have recorded a cumulative GPA of at least 3.10 and must have competed in at least five meets with at least five runners competing in each meet. To garner All-Academic individual accolades, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 and must have finished among the top 25 percent of runners at an NCAA regional championship meet.
Miehe, a three-time Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Scholastic Honor Roll member, placed 55th out of 260 competitors at the NCAA Division III Midwest Region Championship on Nov. 14, 2015 in Rock Island, Illinois. His time of 25:38.1 over the 8-kilometer course was his second best of the season. Miehe is majoring in mathematics.
