MADISON - Doubles duo Chandra McGuire and Ellie Grossen kept their unbeaten streak alive against a Fort Atkinson team that took them to three sets earlier in the week, winning this one 6-0, 6-2.

"I liked how Ellie and Chandra went out there today and played a whole match without any mental letdowns," Monroe coach Brad Saugstad said. "That was encouraging to see as each match takes on greater and greater importance as the season winds down."

The win propels the tournament's No. 2 seeded players to the semifinals. They will face an Edgewood team thirsty for revenge.

"These Edgewood girls will come out motivated because of the 6-0, 7-6 win Ellie and Chandra had over them earlier in the year," Saugstad said. "Hopefully Ellie and Chandra can come out ready to play."

Monroe did not have any other players advance beyond the second round of the tournament.
