FOREST CITY, Iowa — The Warrior volleyball team continues to build for a successful future with the addition of an all-conference performer from Wisconsin.
Waldorf head coach Bri Ebenhoe is pleased to announce that Zoee Pond from Monroe, Wis., signed a Letter-of-Intent earlier this month to compete for the Warriors as a freshman starting in the fall of 2021.
“To be able to continue my athletic career at the collegiate level means everything to me,” Pond said. “I’ve always been the first kid into the gym and the last kid out, and I’m very thankful for four more years of opportunities to play.”
Pond earned All-Badger South Conference honors as a sophomore, and the four-year letter-winner returns to the court this spring for her senior season as Wisconsin postponed fall sports like volleyball until the spring.
“Zoee is a gritty and tough athlete,” Ebenhoe said of the 5-foot-10 outside hitter/right side. “She is very smart and competitive, and completely fearless on the court.
“When she steps on the court, her will to compete and win pushes those around her and we are excited for her to bring that mentality to our program.”
Pond, who also played soccer for the Cheesemakers, plans to study Elementary Education at Waldorf and said she chose the Forest City-college because the “community-based atmosphere and true feeling of support are really important to me, and I’m very excited to find that in a school.
“Coach Matt (Ebenhoe) and Coach Bri are super fun and great coaches,” she added. “And all of the players are really nice.”
