ARGYLE — Clay Ritschard had 24 points to lead the Orioles to their first conference win since Feb. 25, 2016. Argyle defeated Juda 53-40 Dec. 13. Juda was also the last conference W for Argyle in a stretch that lasted more than two full seasons.
Ritschard scored 10 points in a quiet first half, as Argyle (2-4, 1-2) entered the break ahead 19-16. In the second half the Orioles found their rhythm inside the arc, hitting all 17 of their shots from 2-point range. Argyle was 0-for-4 from the free throw line in the contest.
Turkish foreign exchange student Dogukan Yetgin led Juda (0-8, 0-3) with 13 points, while Gavin Kammerer had 12 and Quinton Kammerer had eight. Gavin Johnson added 14 points for the Orioles.
Monticello 61, Albany 48
ALBANY — Reece Rufer and Peter Gustafson combined for 37 points to lead the Ponies to a second conference victory Dec. 13 and remain on top of the Six Rivers East standings.
Rufer scored 20, including 14 in the second half, and Gustafson had 17. Teammate Jeffrey Ace added 12.
Monticello (4-1, 2-0) led just 24-23 at halftime, but a big night at the line helped the Ponies pull away in the second half. Monticello finished 19 of 28 from the charity stripe, with Gustafson going 11 of 12 and Rufer finishing 6 of 8 from the line. Ace scored eight points in the second half, including two big 3-pointers.
Josh Dahl led Albany (2-3, 1-1) with 19 points. Corbin Kelley and Jamison Stauffacher each had nine and Rob Schroeder had eight.
Beloit Turner 78, Brodhead 57
BELOIT — Four Trojans reached double figures in a route over the Cardinals Dec. 13.
Steve Dillard and Jordan Majeed each had 13 points for Beloit Turner, while Ty’Shone Lomax and DJ Wash had 10. Wash also finished with 12 assists and three steals.
Beloit Turner (4-2, 3-1) held its ground in the second-place slot in the Rock Valley standings, while Brodhead (2-3, 1-3) are in the bottom three.
The Cardinals were scheduled to host McFarland (4-2, 2-2) Dec. 18 and then travel to Edgerton (2-2, 2-1) Dec. 21 before the holiday break.
Darlington 78, Riverdale 18
MUSCODA — Bryce Stone erupted for 24 points to lead the Redbirds Dec. 13.
Stryker Fitzsimons had 13 points and Carter Lancaster finished with 12 for the Darlington (6-0, 3-0 SWAL), the sixth-ranked team in Division 4.
Riverdale (1-6, 0-3) hasn’t won a conference game since a 45-42 victory over Fennimore Feb. 16, 2015.
