NGM claims D3 title in Verona

VERONA — With four of their five runners in the top 10, New Glarus-Monticello girls won the Division 3 title at the Verona Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 2. 

Molly Olson was fourth overall with a time of 21:16.9. In all divisions, she finished 24th overall. Tanner Gardner led the boys team with a time of 19:47.4.

Monroe, a Division 2 team, finished fourth for girls and sixth for boys. Mary McKenzie paced the Lady Hounds with a 22:37.1. Teammates Jadyn Elgin and Aniyah Jackson-Bey finished close behind with times of 22:52.0 and 22:54.6, respectively.  Tre Dammen placed fifth overall with a time of 17:09.2 to pace the boys team. 

LODI INVITE

LODI — Twenty five miles away, Brodhead-Juda competed in the Lodi Invite. The boys finished second overall with 78 points. Nathan Engen and Gavin Pinnow led the team with times of 18:54.53 and 18:55.62, respectively, which was good enough for fourth and fifth overall. The girls took fourth with 72 points, as Kalena Riemer was the individual champion. She beat the second-place runner from Adams-Friendship by 20 seconds.
