Monticello’s Clark, Guenther reach podium

LA CROSSE — Monticello’s Hannah Clark was sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.36. Black Hawk junior Raylin Peterson was ninth in the shotput at 36-9. Teammate Jaliyah Collins was 10th in the discus (103-00).

Albany’s quartet of Ava Ahnen, Kaiya Zurfluh, McKenna Broughton and Payton Wachholz were 12th in the 3,200-meter relay with a time of 10:14.46.

Pecatonica sophomore Anna Tisch was 13th in the 300-hurdles preliminaries (49.53), one spot ahead of Darlington’s Jaidyn Evenstad (50.24).

Overall, the Redbirds competed in five events. Raquel Reuter was 14th in the 800 (2:33.29). Zoie Zuberbuhler, Abby Solverson, Alyza Johnson and Gabrielle Leuchtenmacher advanced to the finals in the 400-relay and finished seventh (51.38). In the 800-relay, Solverson, Zuberbuhler, Johnson and Reuter finished fourth with a time of 1:48.85. In the 1,600, Solverson, Johnson, Reuter and Leuchtenmacher finished 11th (4:16.16) in the preliminary. 

Webster won the girls D3 team title, one point ahead of Dodgeland and two points ahead of Benton-Scales Mound-Shullsburg and Lancaster, which each finished with 36 points.

On the boys side, Chetek-Weyerhaeuser was the team champion, with Athens taking second.

Pecatonica’s Ridge Toay was third (41.26) in the 300-hurdles prelims, then ninth (41.36) in the 300- finals. Darlington’s Easton Evenstad was 13th in the prelims (41.77). Evenstad also finished seventh in the long jump (20-0.75).

Monticello senior Evan Guenther finished 13th in the 400 prelims (52.45), fifth in the 800 finals (2:00.24), and 11th in the 1,600 finals (4:34.72). Darlington’s Rhett Reuter was sixth in the 1,600 finals (4:26.83) and 13th in the 800 (2:06.23). 

Darlington’s team of Evenstad, Reuter, George West and Carver Fitzsimons, finished fifth in the 1,600-relay finals (3:30.90). 

Black Hawk’s 800-meter relay team of Elijah Shelton, Lucas Milz, Andrew Figi and Jovanny Erickson were 16th (1:35.97).
