DEFOREST — Monroe finished sixth at the Norsk Golf Club Badger West mini meet April 12. The Cheesemakers had a cumulative team score of 362, five strokes behind Sauk Prairie and nine behind Baraboo.

Edgewood won the meet with a 321, 19 strokes ahead of Mount Horeb.

Bert Leach led Monroe with an 87. Aaron Benzschawel and Brady Spotts each carded an 89, while Seth Brandt had a 97 and Carson Leuzinger a 98.

Edgewood’s Alex Weiss finished with a 73 to lead all competitors.

The day before at the Stoughton Invite, Monroe finished seventh out of 11 teams with a score of 373. Madison Memorial was the team champion with a 317, while Verona had a 327 and Edgerton a 334. 

Leach had an 83 to lead Monroe, with Benzschawel second with an 88. Spotts carded a 96, while Brant had a 106 and Leuzinger a 116.

Madison Memorial’s Devin Raven was the medalist with a 76.
