MILTON — In its 2024 season opener, Monroe drew with Milton 1-1 on Wednesday, Aug. 28.
“The team played really well,” head coach Matt Coplien said. “We got the fight back in us this season. I’m super proud of not dropping our heads after letting up a goal. The only way to go is up.”
Senior Matthew Setterstrom scored 2:43 into the game, and Milton scored at the 13:07 mark.
Last season, Monroe finished with a 2-15-2 record and didn’t win its first game until Sept. 9. The Cheesemakers’ first draw came shortly after on Sept. 12.
