Juda’s Cheyenne Noble meets Albany’s Megan Peters above the net during their match Aug. 29 at Juda High School.

JUDA — The Panthers earned their first Six Rivers East win of the season with a 25-22, 25-18, 25-19 sweep over Albany Aug. 29.

“It was a see-saw match all night long,” Juda coach Scott Anderson said. “The player that doesn’t make the stat sheet that deserves a lot of credit is Maddie Smith. She chased down some very errant passes and were able to keep them in play. She probably won back three points in each of the three games. She had a big impact.”

Taylor Gollackson had 15 kills for Juda, while Triniti Elmer finished with 7 aces. Montana Steinmann led the Panthers with 10 assists and 19 digs, and Elmer added 17 digs.

“There was strong serving all night long from Triniti Elmer. Also, Taylor Gollackson was really on. She took all the balls that were close and was able to put them down and mix them up from line to back corner,” Anderson said.

Brianna Dahl had 7 kills and 4 blocks to pace the Comets. Mady Conway finished with 6 kills and 3 blocks, Kaitlyn Dunphy had 3 aces and 10 assists and Jada Flannery added 3 aces for Albany.
