Janecke all-state; Monroe coach Einbeck honored
Fury continue to rake in awards after state-bound season

MONROE — Cade Janecke, a junior forward from Orangeville, was named honorable mention all-state by the Wisconsin Hockey Coaches Association for this past season for the Monroe co-op boys team.

Janecke had 45 points (21 goals and 24 assists), which was tied for fifth in the Badger South with teammate Hayden Roth.

Monroe coach Barry Einbeck was the Division 1 Section 3 coach of the year. Einbeck led Monroe to a 14-7-2 season (5-5-2 in the Badger South), including a blistering 12-1 start to the season. The previous program-high for wins in a season was eight in the 2018-2019 season, Einbeck’s first year at the helm. Prior to Einbeck taking over the position, Monroe had never won more than six games in a season.

In the Badger South, Janecke was a second-team all-conference pick, along with teammate Payton Stauffacher, a Monroe senior defender. Stauffacher finished the season ninth in the conference with 42 points, 18 of which were goals.


Fury have four all-conference

Monroe junior forward Anika Einbeck was honored as a first-team all-conference pick in the Badger Conference for her efforts this season with the Rock County Fury girls hockey team.

Einbeck led the league with 58 points, including 26 goals.

Albany senior forward Haley Knauf was a second-team selection, collecting 48 points and 21 goals.

Honorable mention all-conference nods went to Albany junior forward Alyssa Knauf and Beloit Memorial goaltender Olivia Cronin. Alyssa Knauf had 48 points and 23 goals. Cronin had a .926 save percentage and an average of 1.69 goals per game against.

Rock County (16-8-0) finished the season in a three-way tie with Madison Metro Lynx and Cap City Cougars for the league title. The Fury went on to the state tournament, where they lost to the Lynx in the semifinal.
