MONROE — Following its Division 3 state championship title and undefeated conference season, Sugar River had 11 players make the Capitol All-Conference list. Senior Aiden Hatleberg led all selections as the unanimous Player of the Year.

Hatleberg paced the conference with 47 goals and 15 assists for 109 points. He had nine hat tricks on the season. In a 9-2 win over Columbus, Hatleberg scored four goals with an assist for nine points — his best performance of the year.

Teammates Jack Leonard, Breckyn Thompson, Ben Johnson, Brycen Teasdale, Reid Nolden an Brady Mousseau also made first team. Teasdale was second on the team in goals (7) and points (20). Mousseau was second on the team in assists (8) and third in points (18). Leonard was third on the team in assists (7) and tallied 13 points. Nolden was one of seven players to record 10 or more points.

Clayton Streiff was the lone second-team all-conference selection for Sugar River. The goalkeeper allowed 36 goals with 73 saves, recording a .670 save percentage. His goals against average was just 0.31.

Lance Brecklyn, Alvaro Perez and Nathan Hendrickson received Honorable Mention.

Sugar River had a historic season, winning the program’s first boys soccer state title. The Raiders captured their sixth straight Capitol Conference title en route to a 20-2-1 season. The team’s only losses came to Division 2 Westosha Central and Wisconsin Dells. Both teams were ranked.  

When the Rock Valley released its all-conference lists, Monroe soccer had two players recognized: Osmar Fernandez Sanchez and Brock Brandli. Both received honorable mention and return next season. The Cheesemakers finished 2-15-2, defeating Prairie du Chien 2-1 in a regional quarterfinal.
