Fury’s second period scuffles lead to L

MONROE — The Fury Girls U-19 lost their fourth game of the season in five tries Dec. 5, this time to the Wildcats, 6-3 at SLICE in Monroe.

The Fury opened the scoring in the first period when Albany senior Haley Knauf exited the penalty box and immediately gained control of the puck on a breakaway. Knauf then snapped off a shot past the Wildcats goalie to put her team ahead going into the first intermission.

In the second period, the Wildcats put three goals past Beloit Memorial goalie Olivia Cronin. The Fury were outscored 3-2 in the third period as well, with Milton freshman Emma Kligora scoring twice off of two assists from Knauf. Senior Kylie Evans of Beloit Memorial and Orangeville junior Anna Malone each tallied an assist for the Fury.

Up next on the schedule for the Fury is another home game at Monroe Dec. 18.
