MONROE — The Cheesemakers were shut out 9-0 in a Badger West baseball game against Mount Horeb April 26.

The visiting Vikings struck hard in the second inning, scoring five runs against Monroe starter Keegan Dahmen. Dahmen would last four innings and be tagged with seven runs on 10 hits, a walk and a hit by pitch. Chase Stoerp threw 1.2 innings in relief, and Drew Indergand added 1.1 innings out of the bullpen.

Tucker Markham was 2-for-3 with a steal from the leadoff spot for Monroe, which finished the game just 4-for-25 with two walks in the game. Mount Horeb was 14-for-34, including five extra base hits.


Barneveld 4, Pecatonica 2

BLANCHARDVILLE — In an early-season battle for Six Rivers East supremacy, it was the visiting Eagles that walked off the diamond at McKellar Park happy on April 25.

Barneveld took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning, but the Vikings tied it in the fourth. In the top of the sixth, the Eagles added three more runs while Pecatonica could only scratch across one more in the bottom half of the inning.

Bryce Johnsrud scored both Vikings runs. Kegun Brunker was 2-for-4 at the plate.

On the mound, Hunter Enloe was terrific, allowing just one earned run (three total runs) on three walks and a single hit, which came in the fifth. Of the 16 outs in his 5 1/3 innings of work, 15 came via strikeout.


Pecatonica 11, Argyle 0

ARGYLE — Elijah Knutson and Coy Ruegsegger combined for a 1-hitter with 13 strikeouts in a 6-inning win April 26 over rival Argyle. Knutson tossed four innings, striking out nine while allowing just one hit and two walks. Ruegsegger was perfect in two innings.

At the dish, Brunker was 2-for-4 with two runs. Brunker and Knutson each doubled. The Vikings walked nine times and collected 11 hits against Max Godfrey, Buddy Gerber and Brady Penniston. Will Helfvogt had Argyle’s lone hit.


Whitewater 2, Brodhead-Juda 1

WHITEWATER — The host Whippets won a nail-biter, walking off against the Cardinals on a two-out single in the bottom of the seventh of their Rock Valley game April 26.

Cooper Woelky tossed 6.2 innings for Brodhead-Juda, scattering nine singles and a walk. At the plate, the Cardinals collected just four hits, though two were doubles by Gabe Bockhop and Aidyn Vondra. 


Mineral Point 21, Darlington 6

DARLINGTON — The Pointers smacked four home runs against the Redbirds in their game April 26.

Cadyn Burbach was tagged for seven runs in the first inning before being replaced by James Ackley, who worked a scoreless second before allowing six more runs on three homers in the third before being replaced. Braden Davis put in two innings on the hill for Darlington, and Riggs Black finished the game, allowing five runs in the top of the fifth.

Darlington scored all six of its runs in the bottom of the fourth, but still trailed 16-6 at the end of the frame. The Redbirds were out-hit 22-6 and committed seven errors in the field. Chase Figi and Brady Horne drove in a combined three runs. 


New Glarus 4, Cambridge 1

CAMBRIDGE — Leyton Mihlbauer was efficient in 6.1 innings, scattering four hits and two walks while allowing a single unearned run. Eli Zimmerman got the final two outs for the Glarner Knights.

At the plate, Mihlbauer doubled and drove in two. Brennan Butler also doubled and scored. 

The Knights scored a run in each of the first two innings, then made it 4-0 in the top of the fourth. Cambridge scored its lone run in the bottom of the fifth.
