MONTICELLO - Senior Courtney Leuzinger carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning and hit her seventh home run this season to spark Monticello to an 11-1 win over River Ridge-Cassville Thursday.

Leuzinger gave up just one hit and one run in six innings on the mound. She struck out three and walked one. The only hit she gave up was a hit off her glove in the sixth that rolled to second base. Leuzinger did her part at the plate going 3-for-4 with a home run and one RBI.

With the win, Monticello improves to 8-4, 5-3 Six Rivers East. Monticello coach Duane Garrison said he has worked with Leuzinger on her footwork pitching.

"She's been lights-out since then," Garrison said. "Tonight was her best game of the year. She got ahead early in the count and went after them. I think only four grounders left the infield. When she is pitching like that and we are hitting like we are, it's a good combination for a lot of wins."

Leuzinger had plenty of help as the Ponies pounded out 12 hits. Monticello senior Brooke Bidlingmaier went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI and senior Samantha DeVoe was 2-for-4 with a home run, double and one RBI. DeVoe now has three home runs in her last two games.
