MONROE - The Monroe volleyball team had two players garner Badger South All-Conference honors recently.
Monroe senior Savannah Koester was named second-team all-conference as a right-side hitter and setter. Fellow senior Taylor Barrett was named honorable mention all-conference as a middle hitter. Barrett suffered a partially torn meniscus and didn't play in the Cheesemakers' regional loss to Clinton 24-26, 25-20, 25-19, 25-21. Barrett had a procedure to clear up her injury and she is recovering. Monroe finished the season 9-19. The Cheesemakers are expected to continue building with a new coach next year.
Monroe coach Danya Ward is expecting a baby in February and said she won't coach next year.
