Goecke powers the Raiders

PLATTEVILLE - Sugar River senior midfielder Kendell Goecke scored four goals to power the Raiders to a 10-0 win over Platteville-Lancaster in a non-conference game Monday.

The game was called with 19 minutes still remaining due to the mercy rule. Sugar River junior Vanessa Narveson scored two goals and added two assists. With the win, Sugar River improves to 7-1, 2-0 Capitol Conference. The Raiders have won seven straight games since a 1-0 season-opening loss to DeForest. Monroe (2-1-2) plays at Sugar River at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Goecke scored the first goal unassisted at 2 minutes, 23 seconds. She added her second goal about 1 minute, 30 seconds later. Goecke scored her third goal on an assist from Narveson at 9:17. About 1 minute later, Goecke scored her last goal on a pass from Narveson.

Shannon Donlin and Brooke Larson added first-half goals for the Raiders. Narveson scored her second goal at 42:21 to give the Raiders a 8-0 lead at the half.

Ja-ae Borth and Mikayla Cann each scored second-half goals. Sugar River goalkeeper Paige Natzke had two saves.
