VERONA - Madison Edgewood senior Jacob Graham scored two goals to lift the Crusaders to a 3-0 win over Monroe on the turf field at Reddan Park.

"The kids were excited to play on the turf field," Monroe coach Tony Vasquez said. "They knew it was a fast-paced game and balls would move faster."

Graham and Edgewood senior Kyle McIvor both scored first-half goals to give the Crusaders a 2-0 lead at the half. Vasquez said both first-half goals by the Crusaders came off of turnovers by the Cheesemakers in their own territory.

"We got away from the type of soccer we know will win games," he said. "Edgewood moved the ball passing and possessed it a lot."

Monroe junior goalkeeper Atticus Pond had 14 saves. Monroe (5-9-1, 0-4 Badger South) will host Stoughton in a rescheduled game at 5 p.m. Thursday at Honey Creek Park.
