ALBANY - The Comets likely picked up their most surprising win of the season Monday, knocking off conference foe Pecatonica, 6-5, in eight innings.
"It's a pretty good feeling," Albany head coach Brian Dahl said. "Coach (Jim) Strommen always does a nice job with his guys and has them ready every day. To get a win is encouraging for our guys."
Cody Schultz started on the hill for the Comets, allowing all five runs in 4 1/3 innings, walking three and giving up five hits. Boomer Detra came onto the mound in relief, striking out five, allowing two hits and a walk in the final 3 2/3 innings to get the win.
