BRODHEAD - Junior ace pitcher Erika Stampfli and the Brodhead softball team look to be in postseason form already after sweeping a doubleheader from Walworth Big Foot Saturday.
Stampfli picked up two wins on the mound as the Cardinals beat Big Foot 9-0 and 5-3 Saturday. Stampfli went five shutout innings in the first game and struck out 11. Freshman Amanda Pickel pitched two shutout innings in relief.
Tiffany Carmack went 2-for-2 to lead the Cardinals. Shji Strommen went 2-for-3 and Pickel was 2-for-4.
Brodhead (17-2, 15-0 Rock Valley South) has won nine straight since a 6-5 loss to Fort Atkinson. The Cardinals wrap up the regular season on the road at Palmyra-Eagle tonight.
