BRODHEAD - The Brodhead-Juda girls track and field team won the Jim Church Invitational on Friday.
Brodhead-Juda senior Taylor Bluemel won the 1,600-meter run in 5 minutes, 14 seconds and the 3,200 in 11:51.9.
Bluemel helped the Cardinals roll to the title 129-118 over Elkhorn. McFarland took third (116). Albany finished seventh (42) in the 10-team meet. Pecatonica-Argyle was ninth (26) and Monticello last (11).
Brodhead-Juda sophomore Cora Purdue won the 800 (2:22.9). The Cardinals finished second in the 1,600 relay and the 3,200 relay (10:01.1).
Pecatonica-Argyle junior Josie Penniston took second in the 400 (59.5) and second in the 200.
McFarland won the boys title with 151 points to finish ahead of second-place Brodhead-Juda (104). Albany finished eighth (35) in the 10-team meet followed by Pecatonica-Argyle in ninth (3) and Monticello last (0).
Brodhead-Juda sophomore Brekan Day won the high jump, clearing 6 feet. The Cardinals also won the 400 relay (46.7) and the 3,200 relay (8:24.09). Brodhead-Juda took second in the 1,600 relay.
Albany's Josh Little won the 3,200 in 10:38.9.
