BARNEVELD - The Barneveld Eagles swept a doubleheader from the Albany Comets, 10-0, and 11-1, in the Six Rivers East Conference finale for both teams Tuesday.
In game one, Barneveld's Weston Peterson tossed a four-hit shutout as the Eagles scored seven runs in the third inning to down the Comets.
Senior Bryce Hulbert started for the Comets, but was touched up for six runs on nine hits.
In the second game, Comets' junior Boomer Detra allowed just four earned runs, but Albany committed five errors and the Eagles cashed in with nine runs over the final three innings. Albany managed just two hits off Grant Bowe and Sawyer Lee of Barneveld.
Barneveld (15-2, 8-0 Six Rivers East) is a No. 1 seed and has a first-round bye in the WIAA Division 4 regional. They will host the winner of Thursday's regional quarterfinal between Pecatonica and Argyle Tuesday, June 1.
Albany earned a No. 3 seed and will travel to No. 2 seed Monticello Tuesday, June 1.
