Last Week: >Lady Cheesemakers racked up many runner-up finishes against Verona Tuesday, but Wyss didn't settle for second. Monroe's sophomore sprinting sensation won the 200-meter dash (27.3 seconds) and the 400 (1:02.1), two of the four events Monroe won in its meet at home. Wyss also finished third in the high jump.

Milton Kurschner, Pecatonica Baseball>
Last Week: >No one is taking the glimmer off the Viking junior gem. Kurschner only had to work five innings but refused to allow a hit during said span to the Albany Comets. He also added two hits at the plate during Pecatonica's 10-0 victory on the road Tuesday evening.

Janel Rupnow, Black Hawk Softball>
Last Week: >One pitch can turn a ballgame. Albany tied its Six Rivers East home game against Black Hawk at 2 before Rupnow carved out one of her two strikeouts in a crucial spot. After cleanup hitter Megan Schulz missed a go-ahead homer by mere feet, Rupnow punched her out on the outside corner. Black Hawk rallied to win in the seventh.
