ARGYLE - Senior Kyle Emberson knocked down five 3-pointers and scored a team-high 29 points to lift the Argyle High School boys basketball team to a 67-53 win over Albany on Friday.

"He's a streaky shooter and tonight he was on," Argyle coach Justin Jenson said of Emberson. "It was our last regular-season home game, and he showed up big tonight."

Argyle (13-7, 6-5 Six Rivers East) raced out to a 37-23 lead at the half.

"After he (Emberson) made some shots it opened up the inside," Jenson said.

Argyle senior Riley Ostby scored 15 points, and junior Collin Argue added 10 points.

Senior Tyler Dahl scored a game-high 36 points for Albany (12-9, 5-6). Senior Cole Trapp added 12 points.

With the win, Jenson said he sees Argyle getting a No. 3 seed in the tournament.

"I think we are a solid No. 3 seed," he said. "I'm going to argue for a No. 2 seed. It was a big win for us. If Albany would have won it could have been flipped, and we might be a No. 4 or No. 5."

Barneveld 47, Black Hawk 43

SOUTH WAYNE - Barneveld made key free throws when it mattered most to slip by Black Hawk to clinch the Six Rivers East Conference championship outright.

Barneveld's Mike Zouski scored a game-high 16 points and hit two 3-pointers. Black Hawk made 19 field goals to the Eagles' 17 field goals. The Eagles were 10 of 13 at the free-throw line and the Warriors were just 2 of 7.

"They did a really good job of attacking the basket," Black Hawk coach Charlie Anderson said. "They were aggressive. I thought that was the difference in the game."

Black Hawk (9-11, 5-6 Six Rivers East) was led by junior Josh Meier who scored a team-high 14 points. Freshman teammate Conner Meyer added 13 points, and sophomore C.J. Leuziner chipped in eight points, including two 3-pointers.

"We are playing our best basketball right now which is when you want to do it," Anderson said.

Barneveld's Matthew Myers pitched in nine points but with 4 minutes, 31 seconds to go, he fell to the court after going up for a layup and appeared to suffer a shoulder injury. An ambulance was called to the gym and he left the court.

"He landed on his shoulder," Anderson said. "I don't know if it was dislocated. I don't know the extent of the injury."

Neither team led by more than six points in a tight battle.

Black Hawk will play at Potosi on Monday.

"We played pretty good defense which is what has to carry you in the playoffs," Anderson said.
