ARGYLE - Albany used a 20-8 second quarter run to pull away from Argyle Thursday night. When the final buzzer sounded, the Comets had their first win of the season, 59-45.
Josh Peters scored a game-high 19 points for Albany (1-3, 1-0 Six Rivers East) and teammate Boomer Detra hit three 3-pointers and finished with 16 points.
"Albany came to play," Argyle head coach Brandon Bakken said. "They out-hustled us and probably played their best game of the year."
Argyle led 16-12 after the first quarter but trailed 32-24 at halftime. Heading into the fourth quarter, the Orioles found themselves in a 47-34 hole.
Nate Thomas led Argyle (0-3, 0-1) with 15 points.
In Six Rivers East action, Barneveld (2-0, 1-0) knocked off Black Hawk (2-3, 0-1) 55-33.
