Albany boys run to fourth in Wausau

WAUSAU - The Albany boys cross country team ran to a fourth-place finish at the 14-team Wausau Invitational Saturday, Sept. 21.

Albany junior Aaron Johnson finished sixth with a time of 17 minutes, 17 seconds.

Fellow junior Brennan Bloedel took eighth (17:27) and sophomore Tyler Dahl was 11th (17:56).

Chequamegon outdistanced Marathon for the team title 43-61. Boscobel (63) finished well ahead of the Comets (83) for third place.

Albany's Josh Little finished 21st (18:15) and Isaac Halverson was 37th (19:24).

The Albany girls cross country team took 10th (246) out of 17 teams. Albany senior Bailey Hlavachek finished eighth (16:22) to lead the Comets. Sophomore Sydnee Woyak took 35th (17:58) and freshman Lauren Blumer was 44th (18:15).

Junior Peyton Bloedel finished 77th (19:19) and Felicia Caldwell was 82nd (19:43).

Pec-Argyle takes sixth in Belleville

BELLEVILLE - The Pecatonica-Argyle girls cross country team finished sixth place at the Belleville Invitational Saturday, Sept. 21.

Pecatonica-Argyle sophomore Samantha Erickson finished 26th overall with a time of 18 minutes, 57.80 seconds. Sophomore teammates Hannah James took 54th (20:58) and junior Joezy Thoman was 55th (20:58.50).

Pecatonica-Argyle senior Lizzy Ritschard took 62nd (22:05) and senior Hannah Saalsaa finished 64th (22:05).

The Pecatonica-Argyle boys cross country team had two boys run and didn't have enough runners to place as a team. Sophomore Login Swearingen finished 62nd (22:04) and junior Manuel Ruiz was 66th (23:06.10).
