POTOSI - Black Hawk junior Hannah Herbst had the hot hand and the Warriors rode a 3-point barrage to a 90-52 win over Potosi on Saturday.
Herbst scored a game-high 22 points and hit 9 of 10 shots. She drilled four of the Warriors' 11 first-half 3-pointers. Black Hawk (17-0), ranked second in the Associated Press Division 5 state poll, finished the game 13 of 23 on 3-pointers.
"We shot the ball incredibly well," Black Hawk coach Mike Flanagan said. "That's a huge reason for our fast start."
The Warriors jumped out to a 64-26 lead at the half. There were 10 different Black Hawk players who scored.
Freshman Hannah Butler added 18 points and freshman Maddy Huschitt had 14 points. Junior Brianna Hagen chipped in 11 points and knocked down three 3-pointers. Freshman teammate Natalie Leuzinger added 10 points and hit two 3-pointers.
