Mandatory insurance law takes effect today

MONROE - Wisconsin drivers need to be aware that the state's mandatory vehicle insurance law goes into effect today.According to Monroe Police Chief Fred Kelley, drivers:• Will be required to carry proof of insurance with them at all times. Kelley suggested drivers put at least one insurance card in their vehicle. Drivers can receive a $10 ticket even if they have insurance but don't have proof of insurance with them.
