Mae A. Clark

Mae A. Clark, age 85 of Monroe, formerly of Elkhorn, died on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on December 2, 1926 in Patch Grove, the daughter of Archie and Mattie (Crubaugh) Ward. Mae and John Oostdik were married on January 18, 1945, she later married Joseph Clark on October 20, 1951. She was employed by the Walworth County Sheriff's Dept. for 30 years before retiring and was Clerk of the Harness Racing at the Walworth County Fair in Elkhorn for 24 years. Mae was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Elkhorn and the Church's Mary Circle. Throughout her life, Mae always loved and cared for animals, even during her stay at Pleasant View. But most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Jack L. (Rosemary Forcade) Oostdik of Monroe; grandson, Michael Oostdik of Janesville; granddaughter, Kimberly (John) Frankki of Hartland; 4 great-grandchildren; a sister, Wilma (Bernie) Adams of London, KY.; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, Joseph Clark and sister, Ruby Ward.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, with Rev. John Tabaka officiating. Burial will be at a later date. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. A memorial fund is being established in Mae's memory. The family would like to thank the Pleasant View Nursing Home staff for the loving care Mae received during her stay there.
