Ernest R. Ammon, age 91 of Monroe, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, March 17, 2016. Ernie was born on December 17, 1924 in Herzogenbuchsee, Canton Bern, Switzerland, the son of Ernest and Marie (Mueller) Ammon. He landed at Ellis Island on the day of the stock market crash in 1929.
