Edwin (Ed) Tomlin
Edwin (Ed) Tomlin, age 76, of Albany, left to be with the Lord Jesus on Monday, December 7, 2009 at Hospice Care in Madison, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife Sonia, his family and friends.

Edwin served in the 82nd Airborne and National Guard before joining the Wisconsin State Patrol where he was a State Trooper for 26 years.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Sonia (Ortman); three daughters, Marcy Genthe (Kirk), Elizabeth Flood (Mike Anderson), Susan Goodman (John); 12 grandchildren, Andy, Aaron, Alicia, Kasey, Jeremiah, Zachariah, Joshua, Brittany, Christina, Caleb, Josiah, Lyndell; and 2 great-grandchildren, Xander and Lexie; brothers, Norman and Duane; sisters, Mary Ellen Reigle and Delores Porter.

He was preceded in death by his parents Glen & Anna Tomlin; and brother, John.

After Edwin retired, he worked as a bailiff for the Beloit and Janesville courts until 2001. Ed was passionate about his relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, his ministry, reading his bible, and gardening. Ed and Sonia established the Harvest Center in Albany, the Harvest Center is a vision that Ed & Sonia shared for over 35 years. A vision of growing and harvesting food to feed those in need in the Albany area. Plus providing loving service and access to the kingdom of God for those seeking the Lord Jesus Christ. The Harvest Center is serving people and families in 5 cities across 3 states.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE FUNERAL HOME, 1455 Mansion Dr. and 18th Ave. in Monroe with Pastor John Goodman officiating.

A visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke funeral home.
