Donald P. Trapp
Donald P. Trapp, age 79, of Monroe, died on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017 at the Monroe Clinic Hospice Home. He was born on Feb. 2, 1938, in La Crosse, Wis.; the son of William and Vera (Kastenschmidt) Trapp. He graduated from La Crosse Central High School in 1956.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 - 1958 and was a long time Army Reservist.

Donald and Karleen Schroeder were united in marriage on Jan. 27, 1968 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Irma, Wis. They have been Monroe residents since 1972.

Donald was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church (formerly Mt. Olive). He was an avid sports fan; loved the Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and was an avid coin collector and in his younger years, he refurbished furniture.

Donald worked in retail sales at A&P, Eagle, I.G.A. stores, and the Beverage Mart; retiring in 2003.

He is survived by his wife, of almost 50 years, Karleen of Monroe, son, Michael Trapp of Monroe, sisters, Lorraine Stenslein of Viroqua, and Marie (Howard) Zogg of Madison; six nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Leah Elizabeth and brother-in-law, Kenneth Stenslein.

Private graveside services will be held at Bethel Hawthorne Cemetery; with Rev. Nathan Strutz officiating.
