Green County Felonies• The court, Sept. 22, sentenced Graciano M. Martinez, 23, Monroe, to 30 months in prison and three and a half years probation after he pleaded guilty to burglary.He faced more than 12 years in prison and up to $25,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class F felony.The court dismissed one count of theft, a class A misdemeanor. He originally faced more than 13 years in prison and up to $35,000 in fines.Court records indicate he entered a business June 12 in Monroe.• The court, Sept. 22, sentenced James P. Schmelzer Sr., 49, Brodhead, to three years probation after he pleaded no contest to fleeing an officer.He faced more than three years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines for the class I felony.Court records indicate he tried to flee from officers when signaled to pull over Dec. 31 in Brodhead.• The court, Sept. 23, entered into an 18-month deferred prosecution agreement with Matthew W. Lawry, 19, Oregon, who pleaded no contest to attempting to flee an officer.The court will dismiss the charges in 18 months if he complies with the terms of the agreement. He faced more than three years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class I felony.The court dismissed one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, an unclassified misdemeanor.
