Green CountyFelonies• The court Tuesday sentenced Jeffrey R. Dozal, 33, Orangeville, to six months in jail after he pleaded no contest to hitting another inmate at the Green County Jail.He faced up to six years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class H felony.The court dismissed one count of substantial battery, a class I felony, and one count of disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. He originally faced more than nine years in prison and up to $21,000 in fines.Court records indicate he hit another inmate, causing a fractured nose and broken tooth July 21 at the Green County Jail.Misdemeanors• The court Tuesday entered into a deferred prosecution agreement with Arturo P. Garcia, 23, Monroe, after he pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct.The court will dismiss the charges in one year if he complies with the terms of the agreement.He faced up to three months in jail and up to $1,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class B misdemeanor.The court dismissed two counts of battery, both class A misdemeanors. He originally faced up to 21 months in jail and up to $21,000 in fines.Court records indicate he hit a woman with a belt and punched a man in the face June 23 in Monroe.
