Green County Felonies• The court Tuesday entered a plea of not guilty and scheduled a Sept. 16 district attorney conference for Wade H. Gombar, 46, Stoughton, who stood mute to charges of theft and forgery.Court records allege he received about $154,000 from a New Glarus couple to make improvements to their property and kept about $28,000 between Dec. 5, 2005 and Jan. 29, 2006. The court also alleges he forged forms and was able to obtain $7,850 because of the false documents.He is charged with two counts of theft, one a class G felony and the other a class H felony, and two counts of forgery, both class H felonies. He faces more than 25 years in prison and up to $55,000 in fines, if convicted.He remains free on a $4,000 signature bond.Misdemeanors• The court Tuesday fined Eric B. Chmela, 23, Monroe, $287 after he pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct.He faced up to three months in jail and up to $1,000 as part of the plea agreement for the class B misdemeanor.The court dismissed one count of criminal damage to property and one count of resisting an officer, both class A misdemeanors, and one count of disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor.
