Green County Felonies• Christopher H. Stevens, 21, Monroe, remains free on a $2,000 signature bond after making his initial appearance Monday for drug and drug paraphernalia possession.Court records allege he had morphine pills in his possession without a prescription and also had drug paraphernalia in his possession June 4 at a Monroe residence. He was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping in 2005.He is charged with possession of narcotic drugs, a class I felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, an unclassified misdemeanor. He faces more than 10 years in prison and up to $10,500 in fines, if convicted.His preliminary hearing is Aug. 6.Misdemeanors• The court Monday scheduled a Sept. 2 district attorney conference for Christine L. Mendez, 37, New Glarus, who is charged with three counts of theft.Court records allege she took about $2,000 in cash from Francois Citgo Oil in Monticello between Feb. 23 and June 5.She is charged with three counts of theft, each a class A misdemeanor.
