GREEN COUNTY FELONIES• Chester J. Preston, 35, Mazomanie, is scheduled to make his initial appearance Feb. 4 for threatening to blow up the Green County Courthouse.Court records indicate he threatened to blow up employees in the child support office if they took away his driver's license Oct. 19. He later told them he didn't mean them specifically but rather the building.He is charged with threatening an agent of the Department of Workforce Development and threatening to injure, both class H felonies, and a bomb scare, a class I felony. He faces more than 15 years in prison and up to $30,000 in fines, if convicted.MISDEMEANORS• The court Thursday sentenced Caitlin M. Claire, 18, Baileyville, Ill., to one year probation after she pleaded no contest to theft.She faced up to nine months in jail and up to $10,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class A misdemeanor.Court records indicate she took merchandise valued at around $100 Sept. 29 from ShopKo.She was charged with retail theft, a class A misdemeanor.• Merlin G. Pellett, 79, Janesville, is scheduled to make his initial appearance Jan. 28 for criminal damage to property.Court records indicate he cut into a walnut tree owned by another man between Aug. 1 and Aug. 31, 2007.He is charged with criminal damage to property, a class A misdemeanor.
