'Care Trak' may be functional before July 1

DARLINGTON - A tracking system to locate people with autism or dementia who have wandered off is expected to be functional in Lafayette County before July 1, thanks to donations that exceeded a $6,000 goal. Lafayette County Sheriff Scott Pedley announced Thursday, May 30, that his department received nearly $9,000 to date in donations for the "Care Trak" initiative. The donations surpassed the $6,000 goal set in mid-April on May 16.
