Barn destroyed in Monday's storms

DARLINGTON - A storage barn on Tish Road was completely destroyed in a storm that produced apparent tornado activity at about 7:30 p.m. Monday night in an area southeast of Darlington and continuing into Wiota township in Lafayette County, according to a press release from Lafayette County Sheriff Scott Pedley.No injuries associated with the storm have been reported.A preliminary rapid damage assessment by Lafayette County Emergency Management and sheriff's deputies indicated building and tree damage at about 15 locations in Darlington and Wiota townships.The Sheriff's 911 Center received numerous reports of funnel cloud activity, and dispatchers alerted several fire departments to serve as storm spotters.
