Allen R. Harker
Allen R. Harker, age 39, of Shullsburg, WI, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer for three and a half years. He was born September 14, 1972 in Cuba City, WI, the son of Richard and Janet (Schwartz) Harker. Allen lived all of his life in Shullsburg, where he graduated from high school in 1990. He was united in marriage to Kimberly K. Solchenberger on March 17, 1995 at the Lafayette County Courthouse in Darlington, WI. Allen worked for Faherty, Inc. for 10 years, retiring due to his health.

Allen is survived by his wife: Kimberly; two children: Duane J. (fiancée Brittany Durant) Harker and Bree K. Harker both of Shullsburg; his parents: Richard and Janet Harker of Shullsburg; one brother: John (Pam) Harker of Shullsburg; five sisters: Rose (fiancé Kevin Kent) Doyle of Shullsburg, Susan (Dan) Morrissey of Shullsburg, Loretta (Dave) Ingram of Rock City, IL, Mary (Gary) Horras of Waunakee, WI, and Bernadine (Mark) Salathe of Darlington; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Ray and Elva Harker; and maternal grandparents: Joseph and Cecelia Schwartz.

Allen will be remembered for his smile and his great kindness. He loved horseback riding and driving his 4-wheeler. Allen enjoyed a nice cold Busch Light beverage and hanging out with family and friends. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church, 226 West Church Street in Shullsburg with Rev. Jeffrey A. Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Shullsburg. A visitation will be held Monday, September 3, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at O'Flahrity-Erickson Funeral Home, 235 North Judgement Street in Shullsburg and on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
