Walter Paul Leu, age 94 of Darlington, WI passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Lafayette Manor in Darlington, WI. He was born June 6, 1927 in Darlington the son of Walter and Frieda (Barth) Leu. Paul grew up in rural Darlington where he attended Otter Creek School. He was united in marriage to Shirley Rielly on February 11, 1956 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington. In 1962, Paul and Shirley settled on their family farm where they raised their family and still reside.

Paul is survived by his wife Shirley; his children: Roger Leu of Browntown, WI, Tamara (Rick) Schulte of Monroe, WI, Colleen Leu of Madison, WI, and Paula Marty of Monroe; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law: Jeanie Riley of Mineral Point, WI, Sue Rielly of Darlington, Rita White of Darlington, Marilyn Cutler of Linden, WI, Connie (Lewis) Burmeister of Delevan, WI, Mary Ellen (Dave) Jacobson of Darlington, and Richard (Patti) Rielly of Oregon, WI; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law: James and Kathryn (Leahy) Rielly; two sons: Robert Leu and Alan Leu; his siblings: Delbert (Mary) Leu and Gertrude (Clifford) Pratt; brothers-in-law: James Rielly, Loren Riley, Gerry Cutler, Jack White, Thomas Rielly; and several nieces, nephews, and special lifelong friends he referred to as “the gang.”

Paul was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and Lafayette County Antique Club. He enjoyed farming and playing cards – especially Jass. Paul was devoted to his family and cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and the memories they created. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (104 E. Harriet St., Darlington) with Rev. Joji Reddy officiating. Burial will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Darlington. A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. until 2:45 P.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
