Steven John Reese, 68 of Madison died unexpectedly May 24, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison. He was born September 16, 1955 in Dodgeville, WI, the son of John (Jack) Reese and Alice (Espeseth) Reese.

After graduating from Monroe High School Class of 1973, he earned degrees from UW Madison and UW Stout in Vocational Rehabilitation. Steve was employed by the State of Wisconsinin the Vocational Training department, after many years of dedicated service, he recently retired.

Steve was a steady and loving support to his family and was admired for his calm, caring and thoughtful demeaner. He will be greatly missed as a brother, uncle, great uncle and cousin to many.  Steve had many cherished Madison friends as well asfellow classmates and kept in contact with many. He dearly loved his older rescue dog, Chase, they were inseparable, taking many walks together, they were always side by side. 

Survivors include sisters Susan (Paul) Barrett, Sandy Tooley, both of Monroe, brother James Reese of Browntown, Aunt Irene Sheppard, Rochester, MN, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by mother Alice, father Jack, brother- in-law Robert Tooley and nephew Reese Tooley.

A Celebration of Life will be held 3:30 pm, Sunday, June 30 atMonroe Arts Center, 1315 11th Street, Monroe, WI
