Stephen Gean Underwood of Monroe passed away on March 17, 2023.  He was born on February 12, 1958 the son of Ivey and Jane (Woodford Gaff) Underwood in Elizabeth Town, KY.  Stephen served in the United States Army for 7 years and later the National Guard.  Stephen married Jelayne Fierek on September 30, 1982 in Tacoma, WA.  Stephen enjoyed serving as a mechanic in Germany for many years and in his civilian life as well.  He loved to read especially science fiction.  Often you could find his nose buried in a Star Trek book.  Some of his free time was spent building models and solving puzzles.   

Stephen is survived by his wife, Jelayne of Monroe; children, Jessa (Joseph Dittmar) Underwood of Evansville, and James Underwood of Pewaukee; brother Sebastian Underwood; sister, Sabrina Underwood.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Stephanie Forbes.

A Celebration of Stephen’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr. Monroe, WI 53566.
