Sandy Marsh, 79, passed away on November 14, 2021 under the exceptional care of Grace Hospice and the caring staff at The Pillars of Prospect Park in Minneapolis, MN. She was born on October 24, 1942 to parents Augi and Trudi Burgi in Monroe, WI. She was married to Kent Marsh on October 26, 1962 until his death in 1995. She was a loving mother to two daughters, Lauri Underland (Brian) of Atwater, MN and Debi Marsh (Josh Windschill) of Minneapolis, MN. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to three grandchildren, Dalton and Ava Underland and Jaiden Uttley. She had one younger and dear sibling, the late Susan Katausky.

She is survived by her daughters and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister.

Sandy and Kent lived the first part of their lives mainly in the Monroe, WI and Freeport, IL areas until Kent’s work led the family to move to Minnesota in 1984. The roots were deep in Monroe and Sandy always considered it home. Sandy’s first job after graduating from Monroe High School in 1960 was proudly as a secretary with the Monroe Cheese Corp. Once the kids were born, she was a full-time homemaker until they were older and she then returned to the workplace - for several years in the administrative offices of the Shopko stores in Hutchinson, MN and River Falls, WI. She retired from Minnesota Life Insurance Company in downtown St Paul, MN on June 1, 2009.

Her primary interest was by far her family. She spent as much time as possible with her daughters and grandchildren. She also loved horse racing and going to the Canterbury Park racetrack, as well as going to the local casinos with her friends on the bus, working on her coin collection, monitoring the stock market, attending sporting events and local attractions, visiting with friends, and walking.

A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 followed by a Celebration of Life at Suisse Haus in Monroe, WI at 3:30 pm.

A memorial has been designated in her name for the Julie and Kirk Cousins Foundation https://kirkcousins.org/foundation/
