Ruth H. Philipp Goodman Siedschlag, age 92, of Monroe, passed away Friday, December 23, 2022, following a recent illness. She was born on December 14, 1930, in Chicago, IL  the daughter of George and Alwine (Lueke) Philipp. She accepted Jesus as her Savior in 1938.  She moved to Wisconsin in 1946 and graduated from East Troy High School in 1948.  Later that year, she married Albert L. Goodman Jr. on December 19th. She farmed with Albert in Monticello and Brodhead, and they later bought their own farm in 1970.  Together they raised eight children, served faithfully in their church, and ministered to many people with hospitality and prayer.  Albert died in a farm accident in 1982.  She married Marvin Siedschlag in 1985 and lived in Monroe until her death. Ruth had many talents including music, gardening, knitting, cooking, and baking.  She enjoyed every detail of her projects and lived life to the fullest.  Later in life, she answered the call to intercessory prayer and was currently serving in the prayer ministry at Redemption Church. 

 

Ruth is survived by seven of her children: David (Lee Anne) Goodman of Greer, SC, Gary (Cyndi) Goodman of Santee, CA, Cheryl (Bill) Gray of Mobile, AL, Ronald (Ashley) Goodman, Sr., of Freeport, IL, Nathan (Kris) Goodman, of Rockford, IL, Stanley Goodman of Colorado Springs, CO, and Barbara (Keith) Nelson of St. Charles, MO; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her brother, Paul (Sharon) Philipp of IN. 

 

She was preceded in death by her husbands, her father and mother, and her son, John Goodman.

 

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 11:00 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home, Monroe with Pastor Blake Canterbury officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe.

 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022, from 4:00-7:00PM  at the funeral home. Please join us in honoring Ruth by bringing an afghan she made for you.
