Robert “Bob” L. Stauffacher, age 88 of Monroe, died Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at the Hospice Home in Monroe. He was born on June 16, 1930 the son of Louis and Florence (Detweiler) Stauffacher in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Bob was united in marriage to Carol J. Luchsinger on November 22, 1968. 

Bob was a proud member of the National Guard for seven years. He started his working career driving milk truck, and he was always grateful to have made many friendships with local famers. He also drove truck for Huber Brewery for 35 years with the CB handle “Chopper Box”. He drove over two million miles without an accident, while he also raised beef cattle and sheep. He was a member of the Monroe Moose Lodge for many years. He enjoyed playing cards at the Moose and with his card club amongst friends. He also liked bowling, travel and RV camping, and was a train enthusiast. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and Matt Kenseth, the Green Bay Packers, and limburger cheese. Bob’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. 

Bob is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol of Monroe; children, Gene (Danette Wendler) Aebly of Monticello, Wendy (Joel) Werner of Delavan, Cindy (John) Ditter of Monroe, Sandy Stauffacher of Monroe, and Bob (Jessie) Stauffacher, Jr. of Deerfield, and David (Debra) Stauffacher of Green Bay; grandchildren, Cassie Aebly, Mitchell and Jaclyn Ditter, Trenton and Courtney Stauffacher, and Sydney and Tyler Stauffacher; and sister, Joyce Brown of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 starting at 10:00AM at the Monroe United Methodist Church, followed by a short service at 11:00AM with Pastor Randy Booth officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Monroe Clinic Hospice Home or the Monroe Clinic and Hospital Foundation for cancer treatment services, 515 22nd Ave., Monroe, WI 53566.
